THE BEGINNING OF MAD MAXX
Mad Maxx racing started after Brian Krishka and myself while working together at Supreme Plating went to the races together a few times and talked of maybe building a car and trying it for ourselves. Brian even had a car we could strip and make into a race car until one day I was in Vancouver at a seminar and ended up running down to Bellingham to pick up my wife some chocolate surrup (what a good husband). There I ran into a friend from Edmonton in the mall and somehow the topic of his 1970 challenger racecar for sale came up. What could it hurt to take a look at it when we get back? So I have this race car in my garage and we are ready to go racing.

I guess this should be the time to tell Brian I have never been down the track before in my life. First time out Brian gets them to give me a single pass. I come out of a crappy burnout, pass by the staging lights, back up wait for the lights to all come down and floor it! HOLY CRAP who could prepare for a take off like that? So at half-track I remember that I should probably change gears but what a trill I shifted straight into 3rd and coasted to the finish line in 13 seconds at 68 M.P.H. Now we are in the 9 second zone and have added a Jr. Dragster for the kids to participate in and everyone is learning a lot from the effects of weather conditions to the safety and maintenance needed to keep everything running well. And having fun while we are doing it.
